This painting was completely spontaneous and done to launch a creative arts ministry in Dallas, TX. I had never done anything like this before, but as I stepped up to the canvas and the worship music started, I felt wild and free…fully abandoned in all of the colors. I never had time to rinse my brush, so as the painting continued, the colors started to get muddy. When it was finished, I stepped back and thought it looked a bit messy and dark. But later, the Father revealed that I had actually painted His heart of worship, and that true worship IS messy. It is raw and vulnerable, and filled with not only tears of joy, but tears of sorrow and pain. Jesus was a man fully alive and fully acquainted with every emotion – the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. In life, we too are made to feel every emotion and to fellowship with Him in it all.

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."   John 4:23 NIV

"For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without sin." Heb. 4:15
