(Part 3 of my story)
…it was Feb. 13, 2020, just 1 week after I was awakened to the reality of being in a destructive marriage when the counselor looked at me and asked if there was somewhere I could go to get alone with God to ask him what He wants me to do with this information.
I remember immediately thinking to go to the prayer room in KC, but we were living in ATL on a tight missionary budget. I prayed anyway and asked God to make a way…and He did!
A couple days later, I was given a Buddy pass to fly to KC the following week on Feb. 21st. I’ll never forget that day and the next awakening moment that was about to happen…
After the plane landed in KC, I exited the plane and was walking up the ramp to the airport, and the moment my foot crossed over into the airport, I heard myself let out a sigh of relief and say out loud, “Ahhhh….he’s not here.” I was stunned …my body literally just spoke out loud to me and told me it didn’t feel safe to breathe and relax until it was 850 miles away and officially in another State!!!
Wow! I had no idea it had been holding its breath for so long and living in “Red Alert mode” for the whole 5 years!
By the 3rd day in KC, my body started going into full detox and I got sick for 5 days. Head cold, exhaustion, weak, no energy, sore throat, coughing sick. Thankfully I was surrounded by friends there who took care of me until I recovered.
My original trip was 7 days, but the Lord ended up having me extend my trip not just once, but twice. And thankfully because it was a Buddy pass, there was no fee to do it. (God is so smart!!)
During the 2nd week after my physical detox, the Lord also spiritually detoxed me through 3 days of private deliverance sessions that I didn’t plan. It was divinely orchestrated by the Lord, and I experienced such powerful breakthrough, breaking off sorrow, despair, shame, etc, and the fog of manipulation and control that had been spun around me for 5 years. It was nothing short of miraculous.
By the end of the 3rd week, the Lord had spoken to me powerfully and done a supernatural overall strengthening my body, soul and spirit. I finally felt ready to go back to ATL. …and just in time too.
My return flight was on March 14, 2020…just days before the whole world (including the ATL airport) was about to shut down from COVID. …I didn’t know that, BUT GOD did! (again, God is so smart!!!)
He orchestrated every detail of this trip with far too many details to write in this post. But these brief testimonies are to encourage YOU- whoever you may be - that God is in the details of your life. He sees you and knows you, and cares so deeply about you.
He is a God of justice, and He is moved with compassion at the pain you’re in. He is FOR you and is fighting for you right now. Look to Him and lean on Him for all that you need. Trust in Him to do the impossible. He alone is able.
“I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, for where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1,2
